Welcome to
TeamUSA 2007
- the Junior National Windsurfing Team of the
United States
Windsurfing Association! If you are 18 or under, interested in
windsurfing, enjoy travelling around the world (or just the USA) and
competing with other juniors from the US and abroad...then TeamUSA
is for you!
In the past years the Team has competed in Lisbon (Portugal), Pattaya (Thailand), and Oostende
(Belgium), as well as the US Windsurfing
Nationals and multiple local regattas around the country.
TeamUSA
is supported by many of the top names in the sport with T-shirts, hats, backpacks, and more. Gear from many manufacturers is
available to team members at a discount as well!
We currently race in the
Formula Experience (FE) Class, low-cost
Formula racing, using one-design gear to keep the cost down.
Team members are required to be members of
US Windsurfing. Junior memberships are only $10/yr, and available
thru
www.uswindsurfing.org.
We are also working on an Olympic Track program, for those with
Olympic dreams (Bob
Willis). This will incorporate the
Bic 293 OD board and FE
rigs, progressing to using the new Olympic Board, the
RS:X from
Neil Pryde.
Members of the team travel and compete together, with coaching by
Charles Ivey, plus free race clinics at the training
site at Abilene TX, team attire, discounts on gear, and the
experience of a lifetime!
